How to Set and Achieve Your Facebook Page Goals

Starting a new Facebook Page – whether it’s a fan page, business page, etc. – can be intimidating when it seems like there are so many components to it. Having a few goals in mind before you start posting content can help you stay on a focused path.

Even if you’ve been running a Facebook Page for a while, there will inevitably be times when you feel like it’s in a slump. It’s important to keep setting goals to continue to see progress with your Page.

marketing objective to measure Facebook Page ROI

In this post, we’ll go over some tried and true tactics to help you set and achieve your Facebook Page goals.

The SMART Method to Setting Facebook Page Goals

You’ve likely heard of the SMART technique for setting goals. This acronym works as a strategy to help you set goals in all realms of life, including Facebook! Here’s how you can use this technique to set actionable Facebook Page goals:

Specific

Be specific in what you want to achieve with your Facebook Page. Do you want to increase sales? Attract users to your website? Increase brand awareness? Build an email list? Write down your specific goals.

Measurable

Determine how you’ll measure your progress toward your goal. Facebook Insights helps you measure the engagement rate and ROI from your Facebook ads. Other tools like Google Analytics and Bitly can help you measure how much traffic you’re getting to your website from your Facebook Page.

Achievable

While we don’t want to discourage you from dreaming big (seriously, big numbers are possible on Facebook!), make sure you start out with a realistic goal. Maybe your first goal is to hit 100 Page likes, then 1,000, then 10,000! Start small so as not to get discouraged, and keep raising the stakes as you get a better handle on it.

Relevant

Your goals should align with your niche, company, or organization that you’re representing. Make sure they reflect the vision and mission you have for your brand.

Time Specific

Put a deadline on your goal. Think about how soon you want to see results. For example, maybe your goal is to double your email subscriber list in the next six months.

How to Engage with Other Facebook Pages as Your Facebook Page

Do you want to gain more awareness for your brand? A great way to get your brand and message out there is to engage with other Facebook Pages as your Facebook Page.

You might have your Facebook Page created and now you’re posting awesome content on a consistent schedule with FPTraffic. You’re getting the hang of how to operate your Page, but if you’re new to using Facebook Pages, it’s easy to forget there’s a difference between your Facebook profile and your Facebook Page in terms of how you engage with other Pages.

When you go to Like or share a post, Facebook’s default is for you to act as your own profile. But you can easily engage with other Facebook Pages as your own Facebook Page, further getting your Page name seen by others. Keep reading to learn the different ways you can engage as your Facebook Page.

5 Ways to Engage with Facebook Pages as Your Facebook Page

It’s easy to get stuck behind the virtual administrative walls of your Facebook Page, always posting content but not getting out there and socializing with the rest of the News Feed. Engaging with other Pages helps expand your reach and draw in new fans. Plus, if you want to get Likes and comments on your Page, it’s a good habit to get out and do the same for other Pages.

Here are 5 ways you can engage with other Facebook Pages as your Facebook Page:

1. Like Pages as your Page

When a Page owner sees that a Page likes them rather than a typical Facebook user, they’re likely to be intrigued to check out what your Page is all about. Make a practice of liking other Pages as your Page rather than your personal profile.

To like another Facebook Page as your Page, go to the Page you want to Like. Click the three dots on the Page’s cover photo, and click Like as Your Page.

Like a Page as your Page

You’ll then get a menu listing all of the Pages you manage. Click the Page you’d like to use, then click Save. You’ll then receive a confirmation that the page has been added to your favorites.

2. Engage with posts as your Page

Add to discussion on other Pages’ popular posts with valuable comments as your Page name. Seeing the value you provide will encourage fans of that Page’s fans to check out your Page as well.

When you want to Like or comment on a Page’s posts, click the drop-down next to your profile photo. Select the Page you want to Like or comment with.

Similarly, you can post on another Page’s timeline as your Page.

3. Share posts from other Pages on your Facebook Page

When you see a great post from another Page in your niche pop up in your News Feed, share it with your audience. Click the Share button, and click the option to Share to a Page. Then select the appropriate Page you’d like to share it to.

How to share a post on your Facebook Page

In some cases, you’ll see the option to share the original post. This checkbox comes up in some cases when a post has a status and a link. The original post includes a link to the Page the post came from along with the author’s commentary and a link to the article. You can always add your own status above the post as well.

4. View your Page’s News Feed

You can easily view recent updates from Pages you’ve Liked as your Page from your Page…we know, that’s a confusing mouth full! It’s more simple than it sounds.

From your Page, under the cover photo, click See Pages Feed.

See Pages Feed

This is a simple way to keep up with the other Pages in your niche, since you won’t always see their updates in your personal News Feed.

You’ll see the Pages your Page had liked on the left side, with the most recent updates from the Pages in the News Feed right from your Page. Then you can engage with those updates automatically from your Page.

5. Reply to mentions as your Page

Do you have your Page’s notifications turned on? This will let you know if a user or Page mentions your Page, giving you another opportunity to interact and engage. You can still find these under the Notifications tab in the Activity section.

Being mentioned is great for raising your Page’s awareness, but be sure to acknowledge the person who mentioned you by responding with a comment.

Get out there and socialize as your Page. Engaging with other Page’s is one proven way to attract a larger audience back to your own Page. In any case, be sure to add value to the discussion with information, entertainment or a solution.

5 Goals to Set When You Create a Facebook Page

Anyone can create a Facebook Page. But if you want to make some money from it, you need to do some planning. Like any business endeavor, you should have a clear vision of what it is you want to achieve, then make goals to measure your progress.

Whenever you start a new project – whether it be a new website, side hustle or even a Facebook Page – setting some benchmarks to achieve will give you something to work toward. It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of a new project. Too often people quit early on because they’re not sure what to do next.

Setting goals is a great way to keep moving forward. After you’ve created a new Facebook Page, here are 5 goals to work toward.

Goals for a New Facebook Page

Once you’ve found a niche you love and created your Facebook Page, the following goals will help you reach success:

1. Create Value

Sure, this goal isn’t as sexy as setting out to make X amount of dollars or gain so many likes, but it’s the foundation that makes earning a possibility. Without any valuable content, no one will Like or engage with your Page.

If people find value in the content you’re publishing, you’ll be able to keep and maintain their attention. Eventually, this will convert to dollars. With every post you publish, aim to provide value in some way. That could mean providing useful information, humor, entertainment, etc.

Rely on FPTraffic’s 8 content sources for an endless amount of valuable content.

2. Get 10,000 Likes

Focus on building your audience so you can generate a nice income from your Facebook Page. We recommend aiming for 10,000 Likes because that means you have a fairly large audience who will engage with your content and help it grow organically.

Facebook ads are the best way to build your audience for a new Page. Check out this post on how we used Facebook ads to get 10,000 Likes to our new Page in one month.

3. Get Your Cost per Like Down

When you create a Facebook ad for Likes, your cost per Like will start out higher and gradually decrease while the ad runs. This happens because Facebook automatically optimizes your ad to only show to people who are going to be interested in it. Every day, Facebook collects more data on the users who are responding to the ad by Liking your Page. Facebook uses that data to more accurately target new people the next day.

Aim to get your cost per Like down to $0.01 and $0.05.

4. Build an Email List

Whether you run a business Page or fan Page, Facebook can help you build your email list. Email lists are one of the most valuable tools you can have as a marketer. This gives you more ways to reach your fans and make sure they are seeing your content.

You can easily build an email list in two ways with FPTraffic: create an email newsletter that your fans sign up for or create a giveaway in which they’ll enter their email address.

5. Earn Your Money Back

Of course, you want to earn any money back that you spent on ads, and then some! Once you get to about 10,000 Likes, it becomes easier to monetize and generate income from your Page.

Monetize your Page by promoting affiliate links or funneling traffic through to your monetized website. FPTraffic offers the ability to promote and earn from major companies like Amazon and Ebay.

Get on the right track by setting a few goals for your Facebook Page. When you have a clear path of what you need to do next, you’re more likely to stick with something and succeed. Start with these goals, and keep growing from there!

20 Ways to Get More Facebook Page Likes

The key to succeeding with any Facebook Page is to gain a significant amount of fans. The more Facebook Page Likes you gain, the easier it will be to generate revenue or funnel traffic to your monetized website.

Facebook like thumbAs your posts get liked and shared, your Page’s reach and visibility increases, leading to organic growth. With 4.75 billion pieces of content being shared daily, how do you get people to hit the Like button on your Page?

We’ve got several (mostly free!) ways you can increase your number of Facebook Page Likes. Start growing your fan base with the following tips.

How to Increase Your Facebook Page Likes

  1. Keep your posts short. Research suggests that posts containing 100-119 characters get the most engagement. (Posts that pose a question get even higher engagement!)
  2. Add value to other Pages and blogs in your niche. Comment on other Pages as your Page, leaving informative responses that will increase your authority and visibility.
  3. Create a giveaway. The FPTraffic Giveaway feature prompts users to post about the giveaway, which can drive more Likes to your Page.
  4. Optimize your Page for SEO. Add relevant keywords to your Page’s title and About section to increase its rankings in the search engines.
  5. Post relevant, useful content. Keep up on what’s trending among your fans and look for any gaps you can fill with informative content that they’ll want to share with their friends.
  6. Tag other Pages in your posts. Your post will appear on the other Page’s timeline, increasing your Page’s visibility among their fans who will likely see the value in liking your Page.
  7. Claim a vanity URL that’s catchy and easy to remember.
  8. Embed your Facebook video posts onto your website or blog. This will help promote your Page to your website viewers.
  9. Use popular hashtags when posting about trending topics or breaking news.
  10. Keep promotional content to a minimum. Post mostly informative, educational content and sprinkle in promotional content here and there. Follow the 80/20 rule, posting promotional content only 20% of the time.
  11. Post consistently. Create a post schedule to consistently get content in front of people and increase engagement.
  12. Ask your fans to share photos on your Page. When they do, your Page will appear in their friends’ feeds and increase your Facebook Page Likes.
  13. Add your Page to a Fan Page directory list.
  14. Use the Facebook Page Plugin on your website or blog. This encourages people to share your content and it boosts your Page Likes.
  15. Use captivating and relevant images. Between 65 and 85% of people describe themselves as visual learners, meaning they digest information easier by viewing rather than reading. The FPTraffic Chrome Extension allows you to easily find and schedule great images for your posts!
  16. Create a Facebook Group in your industry. This is a great way to reach prospects who haven’t liked your Page yet. You’ll provide value and gain trust, driving more Likes to your Page.
  17. Connect with admins of popular Facebook Groups in your niche. They’ll see you as an authoritative source and be more likely to share content from your Page.
  18. Cross-promote your Pages.
  19. View your Facebook Page Insights to see your most popular content. Use those results to give fans more of the content they want, and they’ll be more likely to share that content.
  20. Create Facebook Ads for Likes. At a budget that you control, Facebook will promote your Page to reach more people interested in your niche and boost your Likes.

Getting Facebook Page Likes doesn’t have to be complicated or cost you too much money. There are several ways to keep boosting your traffic. Remember to always post content that provides value to your fans, increase your visibility by engaging with other Pages, and ask your fans to engage with your Page as well.
